Emotion Focused Therapy – EFT
Emotion‑Focused Therapy is a collaborative, evidence‑based approach that helps you understand, process, and transform the emotions that shape your wellbeing. At its core, EFT recognises that emotions aren’t obstacles to overcome—they’re powerful signals pointing toward unmet needs, past wounds, and pathways to healing. In therapy, clients learn to tune into these signals with curiosity and compassion, rather than judgment or avoidance because emotions carry important information about your needs, values, and experiences.
In EFT, you’ll learn to recognise patterns that keep you feeling stuck, develop a deeper connection with your inner world, and build new emotional responses that support resilience and growth. This approach is gentle yet powerful, helping you create lasting change in how you relate to yourself and the people around you.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, past trauma, or a desire for deeper self‑understanding, EFT offers a compassionate pathway toward clarity, connection, and emotional wellbeing.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy) is an evidence‑based approach that helps people heal from distressing memories, trauma, and overwhelming life experiences. Rather than requiring detailed retelling, EMDR supports the brain’s natural ability to process and integrate difficult events.
Through guided bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or sound—clients can reduce emotional intensity, shift unhelpful beliefs, and move toward a greater sense of clarity and calm. EMDR is suitable for PTSD, anxiety, phobias, grief, and many forms of emotional distress, offering a structured yet gentle pathway to lasting change.
What EMDR Helps With
-
Trauma recovery
Processing single‑incident or complex trauma
-
Anxiety reduction
Easing persistent worry and physical tension
-
Grief and loss
Supporting emotional integration after bereavement
-
Phobias and fears
Reducing the intensity of long‑held fears
-
Self‑esteem repair
Shifting negative core beliefs formed earlier in life
How EMDR Works
EMDR activates the brain’s natural healing system. When a distressing event becomes “stuck,” it can continue to trigger emotional or physical reactions long after the event has passed. Bilateral stimulation helps the brain reprocess these memories so they feel less vivid, less charged, and more manageable.
